| About Los Angeles Ballet Academy Los Angeles Ballet Academy was established in 1992 as Theatrics Dance Academy. In September of 2004 the school relocated to the current 6500 square foot facility and was renamed the Los Angeles Ballet Academy. Los Angeles Ballet Academy offers some of the finest dance instruction available in the San Fernando Valley. The non-profit sister organization includes the Los Angeles Youth Ballet Theater (a classical and contemporary focused ballet ensemble) and Theatrics Dance Company ( a Jazz, Contemporary and Musical Theater focused group). Andrea Paris, the studio's owner and director, danced professionally with the Royal New Zealand Ballet as well as in Broadway shows an in Television and Film and holds the British Ballet Organization's Solo Seal Award and the Royal Academy of Dance teacher's certificate. Andrea Paris has assembled an international team of teachers from as far away as South Africa, Australia, Russia and Japan as well as from here in the United States. They hold credentials in Checcetti and the Royal Academy and have graduated from the world's most prestigious professional pedagogy schools. Their repertoire includes professional experience in all fields of dance. |

Los Angeles Ballet Academy has the training method that can take a child from preschool dance to the professional level. Our teachers have specialized knowledge in teaching all levels and are able to follow through with a dancers training from the first lesson to college applications and professional dance opportunities. We believe the discipline of dance is valuable to all young people, the comradery and relationships that grow between the teachers and the young dancers creates memories and friendships that they will cherish forever. |

Los Angeles Ballet Academy students have been awarded scholarships
to dance related programs such as The Julliard School, the Royal Ballet
School, Pointe Park College, American Ballet Theatre, American Academy
of Ballet, Idyllwild Arts, Walnut Hill and The Harid Conservatory. They
have taken top awards at the Youth America Grand Prix including Outstanding
school in 2005 and 2006, and outstanding choreography in 2005 & 2007.
In 2007 they participated in the McCallum
Theater Choreography Competition for the first time and they were awarded
the grand prize. Andrea Paris was awarded Dance Teacher Magazines Dance
Teacher of the Year in 2007. LABA students participate with much success
in annual recitals, the Music Center Spotlight Awards, as guest
artists in Tokyo, Japan, Community Performances and other local Dance
Events.Los Angeles Ballet Academy students have had the opportunity to
perform with the American Ballet Theatre in the Nutcracker & La
Corsaire, with the San Francisco Ballet in Cinderella, and
The Royal Ballet in Cinderella. The opportunity for young dancers
to participate in professional productions is always encouraged and can
be a great source of inspiration. Students who come to LABA can expect to improve their ballet technique with our Certified Teachers and unique training methods. Our Program is highly personalized and we offer open level classes as well as Royal Academy of Dance Examination preparation. Pilates, classical repertoire, contemporary dance, jazz, voice, tap and hip hop are all offered at LABA. Our goal is to foster a love of ballet and positive self image in all students. |
