Required Dress Code for Los Angeles Ballet Academy Classes

Junior Division

Intro to Dance and Pre Ballet/Tap

Any color leotard and skirt, pink ballet shoes, and black patent leather tap shoes.

Pre-Primary and Primary

Girls:Mirella 201 C leotard (Pink Camisole), pink watercolor skirt, pink cotton scrunchie, pink ballet socks and pink full-soled ballet shoes (Bloch or Capezio full sole).

Student Division

Boys Dress for Ballet

Black shorts or tights, white form-fitting t-shirt, white socks and white ballet shoes. Black or tan dance belt for boys 11 yrs and older.

Grade 1 and 2

Girls:Mirella 207L Leotard in Light Blue, light blue ballet belt, light blue scrunchie, pink ballet socks, pink ballet shoes (Bloch or Capezio full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 3

Girls: Navy Capezio tank leotard w/double darts, #9631 (formerly #9985), black ballet belt, navy scrunchie, pink ballet socks and pink full-soled ballet shoes (Bloch or Capezio), black character skirt and black RAD canvas character shoes.

Grade 4

Girls: Mirella 207L Leotard in Navy, black ballet belt, navy scrunchie, pink ballet socks, pink ballet shoes (Bloch or Capezio full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 5

Girls: Mirella 207L Leotard in Spruce Green, black ballet belt, spruce green scrunchie, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons (Bloch or Capezio full sole), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 6

Girls: Mirella 207L Leotard in Garnet, Watercolour long skirt, garnet ballet belt, garnet cotton scrunchie, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons (canvas or split sole OK), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 7

Girls: Mirella M207LM Leotard in lavendar, Watercolour long skirt, black ballet belt, lavender cotton scrunchie, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons(canvas or split sole OK), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

Grade 8

Girls: Mirella 207L Leotard in White, Watercolour long skirt, white ballet belt, white cotton scrunchie, pink tights, pink ballet shoes w/ribbons (canvas or split sole OK), black character skirt and black character shoes*.

*Character shoes should be canvas Freed, SoDanca or Sansha with 1" heel.

Intensive Division

Boys Dress for Ballet

Black shorts or tights, white form-fitting t-shirt or leotard tucked in, white socks and white ballet shoes and a black belt.  Black or tan dance belt for boys 11 yrs and older.

Intermediate Foundation (IF)

Any style Black spaghetti strap leotard (prefer Mirella 207LM) (no cris cross backs, no rhinestones, no decorations), black ballet belt, pink tights, demi-pointe shoes w/ribbons and pointe shoes w/ribbons.

Intermediate, Advanced Foundation, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2

Any style Black spaghetti strap leotard (prefer Mirella 207LM) (no cris cross backs, no rhinestones, no decorations), black ballet belt, pink tights, demi-pointe shoes w/ribbons and pointe shoes w/ribbons.

Other Classes

Open Classical

Girls: Any solid color leotard of your choice (no rhinestones, no decorations, no skirts), pink tights, pink ballet shoes and pointe shoes.

Tap, Jazz and Hip Hop

Jazz pants, capri pants, bike shorts, form-fitting t-shirts or leotard of your choice and tan slip-on jazz shoe (Bloch S0401).  Street clothing i.e. jeans, tennis shoes or overly revealing clothing is not permitted.  Jazz sneakers are required for Hip Hop.  Tap shoes should have screwed in taps for Tap 2 and above.
ONLY TAN JAZZ SHOES WILL PERMITTED IN CLASS.  NO BLACK!

Please note that hair MUST be in a bun for all ballet classes.
Hair must be neat and off the face at ALL TIMES.
No jewelry other than stud earrings permitted in any class.
Cris cross backs and rhinestones are not permitted in any ballet class.
Please be sure that your child has the proper attireby the first class of the session.
